Game of Thrones Actor Darrent Kent
Darren Kent, an actor recognized for his appearance in Game of Thrones, has sadly passed away after battling long-term health issues. He was 39 years old.

The announcement of his demise was made by his talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, through a statement on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday. The statement expressed the agency’s deep sorrow, revealing that Darren Kent peacefully departed on Friday, accompanied by his parents and closest friend. The agency extended its heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult period.
Samantha Dodd from Carey Dodd Associates confirmed Kent’s age at the time of his passing, but the cause of his death was not disclosed.
Although he gained prominence for his role as a goatherder from Slavers Bay in a Game of Thrones episode, Kent’s acting career spanned various other notable projects. Hailing from Essex, England, he made appearances in the popular British TV series EastEnders, as well as the 2012 film Snow White and the Huntsman. His versatile roles included Marshal’s Law, the BBC adaptation of Les Misérables, Bloody Cuts, Shameless, and Community.
Kent’s breakout came with his role in the 2008 horror film Mirrors. In his most recent role, he portrayed a revived body in the movie “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” which made its debut on March 31st.
His talent was acknowledged at the 2012 Van D’or Independent Film Awards, where he received the best actor award for his performance in the short film Sunny Boy.Beyond his acting pursuits, he took on directing and producing responsibilities for various short films. Notable among them are “Rogue Trader” released in 2019 and “You Know Me” released in 2021. His exceptional work on “You Know Me” even garnered him a prestigious January Award.
Beyond his contributions to the entertainment industry, Kent was known for his involvement with the nonprofit organization Equal People Performing Arts, dedicated to promoting inclusivity in performing arts. Fellow patron Lee Mead paid tribute to Kent, describing him as an exceptional human being who consistently gave his time and remained positive. Mead expressed deep sorrow over the news of Kent’s passing.
Director and screenwriter Jane Gull, who collaborated with Kent on the acclaimed film Love Without Walls, which received a National Film Award in 2023, also shared her condolences on X. Gull posted a series of on-screen photos of Kent and reflected on their friendship and creative partnership over the years. She described Kent as an irreplaceable presence and expressed how much she will miss him.
